Biomass

Consus Enerji generates electricity in its biomass power plants by utilizing agricultural residues and similar biomass resources that have no alternative beneficial use in food, animal feed, or other sectors. Mavibayrak Enerji and Mavibayrak Doğu Enerji, subsidiaries of Consus Enerji, have a total installed capacity of 34.2 MW. This includes 12 MW biomass power plants in Aydın and Mardin, along with secondary source solar power plants (SPPs) of 1.7 MW in Aydın and 8.5 MW in Mardin.

Edusa Atık, a subsidiary of Consus Enerji, is dedicated to ensuring the sustainable and reliable supply of biomass for Consus Enerji's power plants. The Company focuses on procuring a variety of biomass resources, with a primary emphasis on agricultural residues. Agricultural residues left in fields after harvest, which have no alternative use, are collected at no cost or burden on farmers, who are regarded as key stakeholders of the Company. These residues are then transformed into energy at Consus Enerji’s biomass power plants, creating economic value after the harvest. This process provides support to farmers by alleviating their production costs.

Additionally, it prevents the damage that such agricultural residues, typically burned for disposal on farmland, could cause to the soil, thereby supporting agricultural sustainability and productivity. Through its investments in the biomass sector, Consus Enerji seeks to reduce Turkey’s reliance on imported energy resources, contribute to the national economy, and promote regional employment opportunities.
